College-Prep how to get ready and be ready

College-Prep? There are many ways to help students prepare to take the ACT and SAT.
For many homeschoolers, the college prep tests not only offer a sense of ‘legitimacy’ when applying to college, but they also offer the opportunity to earn scholarships at various schools including the National Merit scholarship awarded from the PSAT.

4. It helps to get information about the test before you take it. Check our resources listed below, to learn the dates for upcoming tests, to do practice and free quizzes, and help you prepare your student for the test as well as format and other information.

What else should a student do to prepare for college? It is very important that as you get ready that you get a sense of time management and personal discipline. Students also need a clear sense of direction. While it may be fashionable to go in “undecided” it seems silly to spend $10,000 a year without knowing why you’re even there.

The ability to write term papers and essays will also be very important to success in the university and test taking skills. Consider taking time the last two years of high school to synthesize thoughts and produce them in essay format. This will help immeasurably once you move on to college. There is a wealth of resources to accomplish these tasks.

Getting a student ready for college is so much more than academics; it is preparing them for life. By focusing on life skills and some test taking strategies students can enter this new phase with confidence and successfully transition from homeschool, to the real world.
